Schools Energy Competition

Sibelco UK has joined forces with the Carbon Trust and E-On to launch a competition for schools close to its quarry operations.

The challenge has been launched to celebrate Sibelco’s achievement in slashing carbon emissions across its UK operations by more than 25,000 tonnes over the past five years. All primary schools in close proximity to Sibelco’s sites have been invited to come up with innovative energy saving ideas for their school with all entries being judged by a team of industry experts. Regional winners will each receive a syllabus-linked renewable energy education kit whilst the overall national winner will receive a professional consultancy package worth in excess of £1,000 to help implement some of their energy saving ideas around the school.
