Clay Companies Dig Deep for Air Ambulance
August 2007
The Devon Air Ambulance Trust has welcomed a £3,000 donation from the region’s three big clay producers. The funding is courtesy of the Kaolin and Ball Clay Association (KaBCA), which represents the interests of Sibelco, Imerys and Goonvean.
The Devon Air Ambulance service, which has been in operation since 1992, is an independent charitable trust and receives no funding from either central Government nor the National Lottery.
“It goes without saying that the Air Ambulance provides an invaluable service and we are delighted to be able to make a contribution,” commented KaBCA representative Mark Pitman. “The three companies represented by KaBCA operate in Devon and Cornwall and we’ve also made a donation to the Cornwall Air Ambulance.”
Caroline Creer, Operations Manager of Devon Air Ambulance Trust said: “We would like to thank KaBCA for this fantastic donation. The charity will be celebrating its 15th anniversary on 27th August. It is only through support from our business partners like KaBCA over this time that we are able to continue to fund and improve this essential lifesaving service for the community we serve.”
