Sibelco support for junior footballers
July 2007
Sibelco UK, has provided a new training kit for 40 youngsters at Sandbach United FC and helped to kick-off a brand new soccer school for girls aged between five and eight.
The Club, which was formed in 2004, now boats over 30 teams with players of all ages, making it one of the largest sporting clubs in the area. Sibelco’s funding has provided new training tops for Sandbach United’s three girls’ teams including the Under 14s (pictured) who won the 2006/07 Cheshire League Trophy. The money has also helped to start a new Soccer School where girls from school reception to year 3 can learn footballing basics in a fun environment.
“Sandbach United offer real opportunities for youngsters to get involved in football,” commented Rob Davenport, manager of Sibelco’s Bent Farm Quarry at Congleton. “We’re delighted that our support is helping out the existing girls’ teams and also the players of the future.”
