A comprehensive range of resin coated sands incorporates the very latest technological developments, including new high-strength resin systems that minimise gas defects in castings by allowing a significant reduction in binder additions without any reduction in physical strength. New fast-cure resin systems have proved beneficial in reducing cycle times in repetitive core production. We also supply a range of sands for steel castings with negligible nitrogen content to help eliminate pin-hole defects.

Our focus on the environment has seen the development of a range of products with very low fume emissions in use. As well as the low free phenol content resins that have been standard in most of our grades for many years, products with negligible ammonia emissions are now also available – an advance that has virtually eliminated the characteristic odour of the Shell Process.
