silica sands

Drawn from our Cheshire deposits in the UK, sands in our HST Range are suitable for use with all foundry binder systems. With clean, well-rounded grains, the HST range provides the following benefits:

• provide excellent compaction thereby helping to maximise bond strength and promote good casting finish
• give very good strength development for the minimum binder addition, especially with modern resin binder systems
• our sands have clean, inert surface chemistry with negligible clay content
• wide range of sands, from the coarse (30 AFS) to the fine (100 AFS)
• sands at the coarse end of the scale have proved beneficial in reducing gas defects in problem castings
